  题目：The inverse semigroup of metrics on two copies of a metric space

  摘要：Given a metric space X, we consider equivalence classes of metrics on the two copies of X and show that they form an inverse semigroup. We establish some connection between geometric properties of X and algebraic properties of this inverse semigroup.

  题目：Some Recent Results on Geometry of Gromov-Hausdorff Distsnce.

  摘要：Gromov-Hausdorff distance measures the difference between non-empty metric spaces: for isometric ones it vanishes. The family of all metric spaces (factorized by isometry) endowed with the Gromov-Hausdorff distance is a generalized pseudometric  proper class (in the sense of von Neumann-Bernays-Gödel set theory). This distance was initially used by Gromov to obtain some results describing the growth of groups, and later some of its modifications were applied in computer graphics, computational geometry, image recognition, robotics, and some others areas of mathematics and mechanics. The most popular subfamily consists of compact metric spaces:  here the Gromov-Hausdorff distance is a metric, and the space is complete, separable, geodesic, not locally compact. More wide subfamilies have been studied significantly less, and we will discuss some recent results obtained by our group in investigating the general Gromov-Hausdorff class.
