报告题目：Dynamic Model for Life History of Scyphozoa

报告摘要：A two-state life history model governed by ODEs is formulated to elucidate the population dynamics of jellyfish and to illuminate the triggering mechanism of its blooms. The polypmedusa model admits trichotomous global dynamic scenarios: extinction, polyps survival only, and both survival. The population dynamics sensitively depend on several biotic and abiotic limiting factors such as substrate, temperature, and predation. The combination of temperature increase, substrate expansion, and predator diminishment acts synergistically to create a habitat that is more favorable for jellyfishes. Reducing artificial marine constructions, aiding predator populations, and directly controlling the jellyfish population would help to manage the jellyfish blooms. The theoretical analyses and numerical experiments yield several insights into the nature underlying the model and shed some new light on the general control strategy for jellyfish.

专家简介：范猛教授，东北师范大学数学与统计学院二级教授、博士生导师、吉林省首批长白山学者特聘教授、教育部新世纪优秀人才、国务院政府特殊津贴获得者。现任数学与统计学院院长。出版学术专著1部，联合主编国际学术会议论文集及进展特刊4部，发表SCI论文百余篇；主持省部级以上科研项目10项，其中国家自然科学基金项目5项；获教育部自然科学奖二等奖、吉林省第七届青年科技奖、宝钢教育奖优秀教师奖、明德教师奖等。2014-2018年连续五年入选“Elsevier中国高被引学者”。现任4种国际期刊及《生物数学学报》编委、中国数学会生物数学专业委员会副理事长、吉林省数学会秘书长、吉林省工业与应用数学学会副理事长。
