题目：Uniqueness of  planar vortex patch  in incompressible steady flow (2)

摘要：In this talk, we investigate  a steady planar flow of an ideal fluid in a bounded domain  and focus on the   vortex patch problem with prescribed vorticity strength. There are two methods to deal with the existence for this problem: the vorticity method and the stream function method. A long standing open problem is whether these two entirely different methods result in the same solution. We will give a positive answer to this problem by studying the local uniqueness of the solutions. Another result obtained in this paper is that if the domain is convex, then the vortex patch problem  has a unique solution.

报告人简介：彭双阶，华中师范大学教授，数学与统计学学院院长，博士生导师。2011年获得国家杰出青年科学基金，2012年获得第六届湖北省优秀科技工作者，2007年入选教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”，2010年获得湖北省自然科学一等奖，2009年获教育部自然科学二等奖，2003年获中国科学院院长特别奖。主要研究方向为非线性偏微分方程、非线性泛函分析和奇异摄动问题。先后发表学术论文六十余篇，研究成果主要发表在Adv. Math., Math. Ann., Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal., J. Funct. Anal., Calc. Var. PDEs., Comm. PDEs等国际著名学术期刊上，SCI他引达600余次。
