报告题目：The many aspects of superconvergence in discontinuous Galerkin schemes

报告摘要：The discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method is a type of finite element method useful for numerically simulating solutions to hyperbolic equations.  In this seminar I will focus on a particular property of discontinuous Galerkin (DG) schemes, that of superconvergence. Mainly, what is superconvergence, why is it important and what are the different manners in which it manifests itself.  These ideas translate to other areas of finite element methods and are the basis for many accuracy enhancing techniques.

    报告人简介：Jennifer Ryan, 女，英国东安格利亚大学数学院副教授。Jennifer Ryan于2003年在美国布朗大学应用数学系获得博士学位，2003-2005年在美国橡树岭国家实验室从事博士后课题研究，2005-2007年在美国弗吉尼亚理工大学任助理教授，2008-2012年在荷兰代尔夫特理工大学任助理教授，之后在英国东安格利亚大学任讲师（2012-2015）和副教授（2015-）。长期从事计算流体力学高阶精度数值算法和提高精度的后处理研究，主持美国空军科学研究局基金、美国军队研究所基金、美国国家自然科学基金等近10项。先后在SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, Numerische Mathematik, Mathematics of Computation等国际顶级期刊发表论文40余篇。
